FT Sementes is a pioneering company in soybean research in the country. It was founded in 1972 by Francisco Terasawa. Operating in all soybean producing states, FT is well aware of the reality of Brazilian soybean farmers. Its seeds have expressive rooting, wide adaptability and stability in different soybean cropping regions.

Background

The company started in the 70s, with the discovery of the Cristalina variety, which made it possible for soybean to be cropped in the Cerrado. In the 1980s, the Abyara cultivar also contributed to this grain's cropping expansion in the country. 

Research continued and its portfolio increased significantly, and today it has high-yielding varieties, tolerant to the main diseases, stable and adaptable to different latitudes, altitudes, climates and soils in Brazil and Latin America. 

Structure

FT Sementes has a qualified team, made up of researchers and breeders, who work in stations in all soybean producing states, a structure that allows for the reality of Brazilian soybean farmers to be well known.

FT's mission is to develop, produce and commercialise high-performing soybean genetics, respecting and preserving the environment, while generating value for customers, shareholders and future farmers.

Sementec has been licensed by FT Sementes since 2010, which provided access to the best soybean cultivars. And our partnership does not stop there. Sementec has the right to share in the property of the FT Sementes germplasm.

Exclusive

The production and marketing of FT seeds are exclusive to licensed partners. In the state of Bahia, only Sementec and one more partner hold this exclusive licensing rights. In the state of Tocantins, this exclusivity falls onto Sementec and three other partners. And that is not all. Sementec is able to sell FT seeds in other free areas of the country.
